The first six years in a person’s life is really important. According to theories of Dr. Montessori:

“From conception to age 4, the individual develops 50% of his mature intelligence; from ages 4 to 8 he develops another 30%…This would suffest the very rapid growth of intelligence in the early years and the possible great influence of the early environment on this development.”

Audrey and Wesley were going to an in-home daycare for two years. It was the perfect place for little kids. Their teacher has a garden in the backyard, cooks homemade meals, teaches them preschool curriculum, and loves them so much. They also love her so much. It was such a hard decision to make when I heard from my company’s daycare… The prestigious Montessori learning center had an opening for Wesley. If we turn down the offer, we might never get to enroll both of them. If we accept the offer, they woud also have an opening for Audrey. I know it was hard for all of us to leave Ms. Karen’s care, but they have to go to school soon or later.

The first three days of the new preschool was hard. Audrey and Wesley both cried at drop off, but were happy at pick up. On day 5 they both started to like the new enviornment. They made new friends, brought home school work, learned so much, and all the teachers are so nice. Both Audrey and Wesley’s teach wrote me a daily report and send me several pictures each day. Wesley is in a pre-primary class and Audrey is in a multi-age primary class. They go outside to play every day. They go swim every week. They also go to the gym, where they learn kids yoga, gymastincs, play tball, and soccer. They also learn Spanish and music. I can’t ask for a better school.

I spent some time with them in the center when I pick them up every day talking to their teachers and their friends. I even fell in love with their school. Audrey and Wesley’s little friends are all so friendly and we all become friends. I had so much fun playing with them. Sometimes I feel like I am still a child deep inside. Once again I realized that I love kids so much and I love taking pictures of kids.

Last weekend I had a newborn session. I asked Audrey to test out the studio lighting for me before the session. Surprisingly, Wesley wanted to help me testing too! That has never happened. He stayed the entire time! Although it was a quick 15 minutes shoot, I got a lot of pictures of them smiling and laughing. Studio session does not have to be serious or super posy. It could be fun like this! 2014-08-10_0023.jpg 2014-08-10_0024.jpg
