I’m Lai, the photographer and creative soul behind Bokeh Story Photos. For over 20 years, I’ve created digital products, apps, websites, marketing campaigns, programs, brands, and videos.
My photography approach grows from my design process. I start with a conversation: who are you, what matters to you, and what story do you want to tell?
Then I design your session like scenes in a movie or documentary, drawing storyboards and planning the settings, setups, and direction around you.
Because the best photos don’t come from a pose. They come from telling someone’s story.
My love for photography started in kindergarten, sneaking my dad’s Nikon off the shelf. I took my first darkroom class in high school, then life moved fast: college, a career, a family.
The camera became something I picked up on weekends. Then my kids were born, and I couldn’t stop shooting. Friends saw those photos and started asking: can you do that for us?
Bokeh is the soft blur of light behind a subject. I chose the name because that’s what I want my photographs to do: bring you and your story into focus.
When you look at these photographs years from now, I want you to remember more than how you looked. The person you were. The people you loved. The idea you finally brought to life.
That takes time before and after the shutter clicks. We work through ideas together, plan the session, and choose the details that matter to you. I give that same care to editing the photographs and shaping them into a story you’ll want to keep.
